Al Zain Jewellers, arguably Bahrain's best, are at one end of the ground floor, and are still balanced by Al Mahmood Pearls at the other end. Gold and jewellery shopping is a pleasure here, with the majors supported by another 5 jewellers and 6 watch shops selling the full range from classic and modern jewellery pieces to bargain watches and costume jewellery.
The Yateem Centre has always been known for its men's clothing, with Faqihi Bros, Abdulghaffar and Centre Point now having competition from Planet Fashion and lots of younger-styled shops. Valentino Barbers still looks very classic, and the groomed men emerging testify to their skill.
The major source for electronics goods is the Gajria showroom on the ground floor, but there are now mobile phones, computers, games, software and electrical gadgets to be had throughout the Centre.
The clothing is supported by a wide range of cosmetics and accessories. Faces, Moons Top Shop, Reda Trading and Candy Country combine to give a very wide range for all tastes. The extent of sports clothing on the upper floors is unexpected. Olympia is the major player.
For tourists, visitors and souvenir-hunters, the Centre still retains its attractions with numbers of souvenir and bric-a-brac shops. For the traveller, both Air Arabia and Bahrain Air have established their ticketing offices here.
Everyone in Bahrain knows the Yateem Centre. This retail/commercial centre has been in the Suq at the heart of Manama for more than 25 years, and many of us have grown up with it. Despite competition from the newer malls, the Centre is still a shoppers' jewel.
The visitors' car park in the basement provides customers to the Centre with 2 hours free parking. Lifts go directly up into the cool atmosphere of the Centre.
